Shortly after 03:00 Ontario County 911 was notified by Wayne County 911 of a house fire on North Hook Road, Town of Macedon, and County of Wayne in the Farmington Fire’s response area. Along with Farmington the M.A.B.A.S. activated Macedon and Macedon Center Fire Departments on the first alarm. Macedon Police arrived on scene and confirmed light smoke showing, and both occupants out of the structure. Farmington 80 then requested a second alarm bringing Palmyra (Wayne County) and Egypt (Monroe County) to the scene as a combined F.A.S.T. Macedon 8-1 on scene confirmed a basement fire and established command. Rescue Engine 811 arrived on scene and stretched one line to the basement, while a crew from Macedon E-19 stretched a line to the first floor. Both crews found small fires that were extinguished. 80 arrived on scene assumed command and Macedon 8-1 and 8-2 assumed operations. 80 called for Victor off the 3rd alarm to fill Farmington Station 2 with an Engine and extra manpower. Fire was declared under control in approximately 35 minutes. Both occupants were transported to the hospital, one for smoke inhalation, one with body pain as they jumped from a second story window to escape. There were no firefighter injuries. Fire appears to be accidental, units called back in service at 08:07.
